Frequently Asked Questions
What ages will enjoy coming to the maze?
All ages!  Our slogan is "Fall Fun For Everyone"!  We really do have things for adults and kids alike.
Teens and pre-teens enjoy the mazes, the giant slide, jump pillow, air canon, the fire pits, the barrel train
and hay ride.  Little ones enjoy the barrel train, toddler town, slides and airplane carousel.  Adults like the
mazes, hay ride, train ride, corn toss and being able to relax while the kids stay busy with the activities.
And of course, the little bit older kids and adults really enjoy the Haunted Trail in October!

What do I need to bring?
Good shoes that lace (flip-flops will be a big mistake!), bug spray, and a flashlight for night exploring.
Also, bring cash as that is all we accept.  (We are looking into credit/debit cards, but no promises.)

What am I suppose to find or do in the maze?
The design is made up of 4 different mazes.  In the two larger mazes we have hidden 6 checkpoints in
each.  Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find all twelve checkpoints.  Then using the
twelve unique hole punches, complete you game card to prove your mission was a success.  Your
bigger mission is to have fun trying to find them.  If you do find all twelve, you will be able to register to
win prizes.

Is all of the maze haunted in October?
NO!  The maze is made up of 5 different trails and only one will be haunted at night in October.  The
haunted trail is separated from the other mazes this year.  Don't be afraid to come out at night and
explore the regular maze trails if you're not interested in experiencing the haunted trail.  Remember, the
haunted trail is also a fund raiser for local non-profit groups like the Herring Fire Dept.  Everyone did
survive last years haunted trail.

Is there a concession stand?
Yes, we will have drinks, water, gatorade, coffee, hot chocolate (on cool evenings), popcorn, candy, and
chips.  Also, we plan to have vendors selling a variety of food items like sandwiches, ice cream funnel
cakes, etc.

Can I bring Food and Drinks?
Sorry, we ask that you do not bring food or drinks.  We provide concessions and often we have a food
vendor on site.  The only exceptions to this rule is if you rent a tent for party or a fire pit.

What's up with the Fire Pits?
The fire pits are basically camp fires.  We provide the wood and will have it burning when you arrive.  (If
you need help keeping the fire burning, let us know.)  You bring your hot dogs, marshmallows, etc.
Don't forget your coat hangers!  We also will  have a picnic table for you, but you may want to bring your
camp chairs, etc.  They rent for $30 for 2 hours and it's best if you call ahead to reserve one as they are a
popular addition this year.

What are the paths like?
The paths are pretty clear, but are uneven and soft at times.  They will pack pretty quickly, but could be a
little muddy if we get a lot of rain.

Are there rest rooms?
Absolutely!  There is over 12 acres of them! :)  We have port-a-johns with hand wash stations.

What do I do if I get lost?
That's why we recommend bringing the bug spray so you'll be able to sleep!  No, we will have staff
roaming the mazes assisting as needed.  Also, there are maps at every checkpoint to help you head in
the right direction to the next checkpoint.

Are there group rates?
Sure! To qualify you must have over 20 paying attendees.  The group prices are listed on the "Hours &
Pricing" page.  Remember, submit a group form at least 24 hrs prior to coming.  The group rate does not
apply to the Haunted Maze.  We also have tents/table/chairs available for rent.  We have Fire Pits that you
can rent.  This is great for groups to be able to make some "smores" and take a break to tell ghost
stories.  We provide the pits, wood and fire.  You provide the stories and marshmallows!

How big is the maze?
The maze is over 12 acres with 5 miles of trails.  The maze is made up of 4 individual mazes with the
longest being about 3 miles and the shortest less than half a mile.  Good exercise!

Can I bring pets?
We allow dogs on leash only on November 5th.  We will be hosting a Pet Day and would love for you to
bring your dog (on a leash) and walk the trails.  We will ask all attendees on Pet Day to sign a simple
waiver form.  You will be able to print a copy to bring with you to save time.  Also, our insurance
company has given us a list of dogs that we cannot allow.  The list will be included with the waiver form.
Service animals are always welcome.

Can I bring a camera?
Of course!   If you don't have a camera, notify the concession stand if you would like a photo taken
anywhere else at the maze.

Are you going to sell pumpkins?
Yes, we have pumpkins for sale.  We tried to grow them a couple of years ago, but that didn't work out
too well.    We also plan to sell dried corn stalks for Autumn decorations and deer corn.

Are you going to do birthday parties?
Yes, we would be happy to host your birthday party.  Just give us a call or go to the Pricing Page and
click on the Birthday image in the left column for a flyer.
